It is common for Filipinos to work as a healthcare professional overseas. For the past years, Filipinos have been working overseas to work as nurses or physical therapists in different English speaking countries like Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom and even in the United States of America. However, in reality, there are lots of job vacancies overseas which Filipinos can take advantage of. With a promising salary and a promise of a brighter future ahead, Filipinos have been gaining experience on butchery to work overseas.
Indeed, butchery is one work that Filipinos are aiming for overseas. Though this seems like a man’s job, a number of women are also taking trainings and seminar to enhance their skills in butchery. Countries like Australia, Canada and New Zealand are countries known to hire a lot of Filipinos to work on meat processing facilities. Due to this, different programs have been created by the government and with the local government units for Filipino butchers.

TESDA or Technical Education and Skills Development Authority in Region XI holds butcher training in Davao del Norte. All of the mentioned training centers require their students to pass the IELTS or the International English Language Testing System examination. These applicants have to take the General Training module of the test and get an overall band score of 5.0.
Since the IELTS score is an important requirement for these butchers to undergo training, more and more butchers are preparing for the IELTS exam. As a way of preparation, they choose to enrol in IELTS review centers to be educated and trained. These butchers need to have good training for the IELTS. In IELTS review centers, they are given lots of reading exercises, listening drills, writing practices and most importantly, speaking mock tests to hone their English skills.
Training these butchers are important so that they will pass the standards of these meat processing facilities in the countries mentioned above. Fortunately, there are already thousands of butchers from Region XI that have passed and have already been working overseas. The job may be tough but with the right skills and knowledge, anyone can be successful working as a butcher.
