When a Filipino tries to file a visa application in the United States or even in some English speaking countries, an English proficiency examination is a major requirement. Most of the time, the TOEFL or the Test of English as a Foreign Language is needed. Some may be familiar with this examination, while others remain clueless. What is the TOEFL?
The International English Language Testing System examination (IELTS) plays an important role in visa applications of non-native English speakers who are applying for work, study, or immigration in English speaking countries. For Filipinos, the IELTS is a requirement that must be completed.
Among the four sections of the IELTS examination, the speaking test makes IELTS examinees anxious and nervous. This is because the test is done face-to-face with a native English speaker or trained non-native English speaker examiners. Though the speaking test is only for ten to fifteen minutes, examinees usually get cold feet that could greatly affect their performance in the examination. Because of this, many are looking for speech coaches to help them better their responses in the speaking tasks, and at the same time develop their confidence in using the English language.
